If your house is also filled with blocks, animals, dolls, and tractors... you're not alone.
I, too, a mother who makes wooden toys โ have experienced the pain of mess.
So here is our way to create a happy and pleasant order โ one that even the children keep.
๐งฉ Everything in its place โ in a way that the child will understand
When each type of toy has its own drawer โ with clear labeling (and maybe even a small illustration), it's easy for the child to know where everything is supposed to be.
We used IKEA's TROFAST and added custom wooden panels to it - according to the categories our son knows: Lego, animals, dolls, crafts...
Just like a well-tended garden โ only at home.
๐ฑ Quality over quantity
Instead of a sea of โโunclear plastic toys โ we filtered.
We stayed with quality toys, made of wood or fabric โ ones that last a long time and invite real play, not endless stimulation.
It's less of a burden for the kids, and less of a mess for us.
๐ถ The child participates in the process
The child doesn't just get a tidy corner - he is part of it.
He chooses which drawer each type of toy will go in, helps stick the labels on, and even decides which icon will appear on each one.
This way he feels a sense of belonging โ and order is maintained much more easily.
๐ชต Our wooden panels
๐ We created custom wooden panels that fit TROFAST drawers.
They are easy to stick, durable, and help children understand what goes where โ on their own.
