About us

DUZZI was born out of love – not only for design and handcrafting, but also for life itself.
After the Corona period that devastated the cards, we – Avner and I – decided to start something of our own. Something small, personal, with meaning.

It all started with a loss. Our beloved cat, Daisy (or Dozie, as she was affectionately known), passed away.
She was the first cat we raised together, when Avner and I met – our first pet.
She was the one who opened our hearts, in the simplest and deepest sense, to all the "madness" that came later – dozens and hundreds of cats that entered our lives.

In her memory, and as a sweet reminder of what truly matters, we decided to name the business after her: DUZZI.

The first idea was simple – to make a special dollhouse for my niece. We couldn’t find anything in Israel that matched what we imagined, so we built it ourselves. From there – it became a new love.

Today, we produce each and every item here, by hand. In a small business, in boutique production, out of a deep connection to wood, to nature, and to memories of the past – when toys were durable, simple, and real.
We do not produce in quantities. There are only a few of each model, out of respect for the material and time. Everything is made in our house, in a small studio full of soul, with a lot of thought about how to make each item – something with presence, warmth and character.

Every product we create is made from natural materials, and is 100% safe for children and the environment. We don't make anything we wouldn't let our children play with.

We recently decided to expand our activities – and collaborate with other small brands and boutiques from around the world that share the same approach with us: true handcrafting, slow thinking, a love of natural materials, and a deep focus on an audience of parents who value quality, sustainability, and soul.

Even the products we don't manufacture are carefully selected. They all come from independent brands, they are all made from materials that are safe and approved for use by children, and they all represent the same world of content that we believe in.

And just as DUZZI's heart began with one beloved cat – it remains open to more.
Over the past decade, part of our home has become a cat rehabilitation space. We have had over 200 cats come through – not just nursing kittens, but also run-down cats, with FIV, paralysis, severe oral diseases, and problems that no one else wanted to deal with.

In many places in the world, and in Israel in particular – stray cats are transparent animals. No one really sees them. To us they have always been visible, important, worthy of love.
Today we live in a house with 15 cats and two dogs – all of them have undergone rehabilitation, all of them stayed with us because no homes were found for them.
We donate 10% of our profits to rescuing stray cats, but even regardless of the business – it's a mission that accompanies us every step of the way.

DUZZI for us is not just a store. It's a way of life.

Thank you for reading this far.
Avner and Yahav.
