Our Story
I’m Yahav, and together with my husband, Avner, and our son, Liri, we are the family behind DUZZI.
It began with curiosity
Long before DUZZI became a brand, it was simply the way we lived.
Our days were filled with handmade creation, asking questions, rescuing street cats, and believing that the objects children grow up with can become part of the memories they carry for life.
None of this began with a business plan.
It began with curiosity.
For years, we planned and created dollhouses, children’s furniture and wooden night lights by hand in our small studio in the Golan Heights. At the same time, I was building a career in medical research.
On the surface, these were two completely different worlds.
But looking back, I understand that they were always rooted in the same principle: to ask why.
Where the story begins
Research taught me not to take things for granted, to look beyond what is visible, and to search for the reason behind things.
I never imagined that the same way of thinking would one day shape a children’s brand, but today I understand that it is present in almost every decision we make.
Around that same time, I also became a mother.
Watching Liri discover the world made me look at childhood all over again.
Suddenly, I noticed that children almost never use toys exactly as we adults intend.
A dollhouse becomes a veterinary clinic. A play kitchen becomes a restaurant. A market stand becomes a bakery.
The toy itself is almost never the story. It is simply where the story begins.
That became one of the insights at the heart of DUZZI.
People, not factories
As DUZZI grew, so did our curiosity.
We were not looking for the fastest factory or the cheapest production line.
We were looking for people.
People whose craft had been shaped over generations.
People who inherited knowledge that cannot be learned from a book, and cannot be replaced by a machine.
That journey first led us to Vietnam.
As we moved farther away from Hanoi, the roads grew quieter, rice fields opened around us, and the rhythm of life began to change.
Craft that is still alive
When we reached the villages where our artisans work, we understood that something had changed in us too.
We were no longer looking for manufacturers.
We were looking for craft.
We were looking for traditions that are still alive and breathing.
We were looking for people whose knowledge deserves not only to be preserved, but to continue evolving.
Since then, that same journey has also led us to Nepal, where the tradition of felting continues to pass from one generation to the next, and to Peru, where textile artistry is deeply woven into the local culture.
Each country teaches us something different. Each artisan adds another chapter to the story of DUZZI.

We never wanted to create products that belong to a certain season or a passing trend.
We try to create objects that will still feel relevant many years from now.
Products children can grow with.
Products parents will continue to love a decade later.
And perhaps one day, products that will be passed on to another child.
That is why we choose natural materials, quiet colors and thoughtful details that allow imagination to take center stage.
The simpler the product, the more possibilities it allows for play.
More than handmade
People describe our products as handmade.
For us, that is much more than a production method.
It is a way of valuing people.
Choosing patience over speed.
Skill over shortcuts.
Tradition over mass production.
I still remember the first time I watched artisans at work and thought to myself: “How is this even possible?”
Not only because the products were beautiful, but because I could not fully understand what human hands were capable of.
That feeling never left us.
Beyond DUZZI
DUZZI reflects much more than the products we create.
For almost a decade, our family rescued, rehabilitated and cared for street cats until we found them warm homes. Over the years, more than one hundred cats passed through our home.
When our family grew, we understood that we could no longer continue in the same way.
But we also knew that we did not want to stop.
Today, our support for animal welfare continues through DUZZI, because we believe compassion should not end where a business begins.
The same values that guide us in choosing the artisans we work with also guide the way we hope to leave the world a little better than we found it.
What we hope children will remember
Years from now, children will probably not remember every toy they had.
We hope they remember something else.
The stories they invented.
The bakery they opened in the living room.
The family that lived inside the dollhouse.
The adventures that were born only because of their imagination.
If our products quietly become part of those memories, we will know that DUZZI became exactly what we hoped it would be.
